FAQs

Why Should I Install a Security System?

An alarm system is one of the most important technology systems that you will ever buy. Whether it is a wired system or a wireless one it will all depend on your house and the amount of work that is required to secure your property.

  • The primary reason to install a security system is to protect you, your property and give you added peace of mind.
  • A security system in your property will dramatically reduce your chances from a 1 in 25 chance of been burgled to a 1 in 375.
  • A monitored security system will often also entitle you to a good reduction in homeowner's insurance, the amount of reduction will depend on your insurance company.

If you require any further information on how to secure your property please call or email HSM. Our security specialists are on hand 24/7 to help answer any security questions you may have.

Why Choose HSM Security?

Latest technology, smarter systems, more user-friendly for you!

Thieves will go after the easier targets and for them it is far easier to leave alone an HSM security system than attempt a burglary. Burglars do not tend to target properties with good security systems and especially a security system that is monitored by our 24/7 manned control room so if activated a guard will be at your property within minutes.

How Much Will a Security System Cost?

These days, a good quality security system for residential homes or commercial properties is quite affordable. The cost will depend on the technology you select and how you wish to protect your property. The peace of mind that this level of security gives you is priceless. We are happy to send a security consultant to discuss your security requirements and provide you with a free quote. What is the Difference between Wired and Wireless?

Wired models will require wires to connect the multiple sensors to the main base and the alarm system. All these wires need be camouflaged and are hidden within the walls and ceilings. Most commercial properties will require a good quality wired security system. A wireless model relies on radio waves in order to connect the sensors to the alarm system so no wires are required. There are no wires between components, they are used more in residential properties with limited access.

Can Wireless Broadband Intefere with a Wireless Alarm?

Your wireless alarm will utilize a dedicated 433 MHz narrow band radio channel which is exclusive for the security industry and as such unlikely to receive interference from your wireless internet connection.

Can We Still Secure Our Property When We Have A Pet?

Pets do affect most security system unless you specifically have specialised pet sensors as part of your system. HSM have excellent pet detectors so we are able to ensure that your property is still protected from the smallest burglar when you pet is indoors.

Will the Telephone Cut Out if the Alarm Activates?

If you are using the telephone when the alarm triggers, the system will automatically seize the line and override your usage to call pre-recorded numbers or transmit an urgent signal to the 24/7 manned control room.  This feature ensures that the alarm is always set as a priority for emergency notification.

If the Power Goes Off Will My Alarm System Still Work?

Yes. In case of a power loss, the back-up battery will be activated to maintain your security protection for several hours. It is re-charged when the power returns. We will be notified in the 24/7 monitoring station that there has been a power failure at your property and will contact you accordingly.
