Access Control

Access Control is a computerised operating system which assigns rights to selected individuals to access their approved area within a building or complex.

HSM can supply, install and maintain your complete access control system.

We can integrate your Access Control with your intruder alarm and CCTV systems thus eliminating the need for multiple contractors and suppliers.

CCTV

Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) is a television system in which signals are not publicly distributed; cameras are connected to a television monitor in the client premises and if instructed directly into our 24/7 manned monitoring room enabling us to view live action from the property. Some of our clients select for us to make tannoy announcements via the internet in real-time to deter intruders as they step over the boundary.

We use the latest technology. The CCTV industry has seen a significant shift from analog to digital networking solutions for surveillance. HSM has adopted High-Definition (HD) IP Video into mainstream CCTV systems.

There are three main Advantages of using HD IP Cameras:

  1. General Surveillance - A single HD megapixel camera can replace several standard 4CIF cameras, thereby reducing costs. An HD megapixel camera can see more detail in the same view field and it is capable viewing a wider area at the same level of detail.
  2. Forensic Detail - The older analog CCTV systems simply do not provide enough resolution quality for forensic evidence. The HD megapixel cameras quality is superior providing better resolution to identify and record faces, vehicle license plates or objects. We also have specialist cameras capable of recognising licence plates at high-speed.
  3. Digital PTZ - HD megapixel cameras can digitally zoom faster and with more detail whilst still recording the whole picture for later analysis. This provides superior performance and is more reliable.

All CCTV can benefit from HD technology, particularly in the commercial sector helping secure environs such as retail point of sale, banks, schools, car parks, building entrances. Our teams will install, maintain and monitor your property via CCTV 24/7.

Hastings Police Area Commander Dean Clifford recognises the value of good quality CCTV evidence - "Community safety is high on our priority list and we are most effective when we are in partnership with supporting companies in our crime reduction campaigns. HSM Security has clearly demonstrated their expertise in making the most of advances in technology, particularly in the field of CCTV. We are frequently provided with CCTV footage from business owners, but sadly, many times the quality is too poor to make identification. I am pleased to see HSM taking the lead in raising the standard in the industry by using the best technology available to them."

24/7 Camera and Alarm Monitoring

Our clients benefit from our state-of-the-art, NZ graded, control centre with trained operators onsite 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We monitor 24 hours a day:

Climate Alerts Many clients have freezer temperature alarms, some have perimeter beams around their properties and some have overflow sensors on large liquid tanks. Whatever your requirement, we should be able to install, maintain and monitor it for you.
GPS Tracking

HSM supply and install Global Positioning Systems (GPS) Tracking Units. A GPS tracking unit is a device that uses the Global Positioning System to determine the exact location of a vehicle, person, or other asset to which it is attached. HSM monitor the GPS tracking unit, record it's whereabouts and provide you with reports informing you where it stopped and for how long during a 24 hour period. A majority of our clients who use this system for their vehicles have said the advantages have been a huge reduction in fuel bills, better vehicle management, reduced vehicle damage and insurance claims and lower mileage.

We monitor Personal GPS Tracking systems for councils including parking wardens and animal control. Whatever it is you need to track HSM can install the unit, monitor and provide you with tracking reports.

Home Detention The electronic home monitoring system is a small tracking device that is usually worn around the ankle or it can be worn on the wrist. A base unit located in the home detects and records signals directly to the monitoring station, if the device is inactive for a certain period of time or moves outside of the legal perimeter then it activates an alarm which is received in the monitoring station, a guard is dispatched and police notified.
Criminal Offenders A GPS offender tracking device is a very small specialised device which gives police officials the means to keep an eye on potential dangerous persons in our communities. HSM works closely with specialised units doing all we can to help keep our communities a safe place to live.
Medical Alarms Whatever your condition we will monitor you 24 hours a day and respond accordingly when you need help.
Other Areas We monitor not only break-ins and panic alarms, as well as fire and heat activations. Other signals we can receive from the alarm system include battery failure, power outages, phone lines being cut, opening and closing times for business, out of hours use of alarms systems and much more.

Schools

The safety of staff, students and school property is increasingly becoming an issue for school communities, an issue most schools are addressing through improved security.

We assist many schools with their security requirements covering all areas of concerns schools individually have. We install, maintain and monitor the security systems, fire control systems and our live CCTV monitoring systems which have proved to be an effective and powerful tool deterring vandals and protecting school premises.

HSM HD CCTV systems have a pan and tilt camera controlled by movement sensors around the school which tracks unwanted visitors as they move around the grounds.

When sensors are activated, our control room operators can view the school grounds remotely to determine whether there are potential vandals on site or perhaps merely a parent innocently passing through. Our operators in our monitoring station can see and talk back to the unwanted visitors and issue a warning that they are being recorded and must leave, if they do not, we dispatch our uniformed guard.

The results are measured in many ways, reduced theft, reduced damage, and reduced call-outs of staff and patrols. We are pleased to help reduce crime in schools, reduce recovery costs and keep school staff, students and property safe and secure.
